1-Day Birdwatching Tour at Doi Inthanon

Morning:

5:00 AM – Pickup & Departure

Pickup from the hotel in Chiang Mai, and head to Doi Inthanon National Park.

 

7:00 AM – Arrival at Doi Inthanon & Introduction to the Park

Meet with the local guide for a brief introduction to the park and its birdlife. A short walk around the visitor center to spot early-morning birds.

 

8:00 AM – Birdwatching at the Summit Area

Visit the summit, the highest point in Thailand. This area is excellent for spotting species like the Doi Inthanon Sunbird (Green-tailed Sunbird), Scarlet-breasted Sunbird, Greater Crimson Sunbird, and Rufous-bellied Niltava.

 

Midday:

12:00 PM – Lunch

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant or packed lunch in the park, allowing guests to relax and refresh.

 

Afternoon:

1:00 PM – Birdwatching at the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail

This trail is rich in biodiversity and a prime location for birdwatching. Spot the White-capped Water-redstart, Plumbeous Water-redstart, Slaty-backed Forktail, and the stunning White-tailed Blue Robin.

 

3:00 PM – Visit the Ang Ka Nature Trail

Explore the mossy forest area, a key location for spotting species like the Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, Silver-eared Laughingthrush, and Bar-throated Minla.

 

5:00 PM – Return to Chiang Mai

Head back to Chiang Mai after a fulfilling day of birdwatching.
