Description
Day 1:
Morning:
Depart early for Kok Kham Salt Pans to photograph the Spoon-billed Sandpiper along with other waders such as Red-necked Stint, Curlew Sandpiper, and Broad-billed Sandpiper.
Capture images of flocks feeding in the salt pans under ideal morning light.
Midday:
Transfer to Pak Thale & Laem Phak Bia, key sites for a variety of shorebirds including the Spotted Greenshank, Asian Dowitcher, and Sanderling.
Photography session at sandbars and intertidal mudflats, where large numbers of waders gather.
Afternoon:
Boat trip to Had Sai Med Rek, a known hotspot for Malay Plover, White-faced Plover, and Kentish Plover.
Additional opportunities to capture Gull-billed Terns, Great Knot, and various waders in their natural coastal habitat.
Return to base by evening.
Day 2:
Early morning return to Pak Thale for more photography opportunities, adjusting to lighting conditions and focusing on different species.
Visit inland wetlands and rice paddies for Painted Stork, Black-headed Ibis, and other waterbirds.
Explore additional habitats in Laem Phak Bia for more diverse birdlife and shorebird behavior shots.
Optional sunset shoot at a roosting site for terns and other coastal birds.
Day 3:
Focus on targeted species for specialized photography, ensuring optimal shots of rare birds.
Visit alternative mudflats and sandbanks for different wader species in changing tides.
Time for reflection shots, close-ups, and behavioral photography.
Final photography session before returning in the evening.
